Beachyhead, Plettenberg Bay
Beachyhead Drive is the most sought-after address in Plettenberg Bay and among the most valuable stretches of residential coastline in the country. The road holds a full sweep of the bay, with the Robberg Peninsula to the south east and the Outeniqua Mountains to the north, and Robberg Beach is a short walk from the door.
Svelte has secured 43 Beachyhead Drive, 50meters from the sand.
Plett has been built in timber, glass and thatch for thirty years. This is a departure. We are bringing the Svelte language to the coast: sculpted off-shutter concrete, layered texture and hotel-grade interiors, tempered for a lighter setting and detailed for salt air.
The house is designed to give the street very little and the ocean everything. Concrete mass is relieved by timber screening, ribbed finishes and planting that spills over the slab edges, the same principle of mass against rhythm that defines Le Béton.
Interiors follow the standard set in Bantry Bay. Bespoke joinery, exotic stone, specialist bulkhead and lighting design, advanced services and furniture that is curated rather than merely specified.
