Redhill, 18a Redhill Road, Morningside

Redhill is a 1,500m² six-bedroom house in Morningside, Johannesburg, designed and developed by Andrew Watson, completed in 2007, and his own home until 2015.

It is built in off-shutter concrete, natural stone and timber, arranged around a stone courtyard and a tiled pool terrace. Floor-to-ceiling steel windows open the living levels to the garden.

Redhill won Best Property South Africa at the 2008 African Property Awards, in association with CNBC. It was the cover and feature of Top Billing magazine in April 2008 and was featured on Top Billing.

It set the approach Svelte Bespoke follows today: architecture, interiors and construction directed under one hand.
